    Blumira named one of the Best Places to Work in 2025!

    We’re excited to announce that Blumira was named one of the Best Places to Work in 2025 by Purpose Jobs! Companies were evaluated on a variety of criteria including positive culture, robust benefits, learning and growth opportunities, flexibility, and purpose. 

    We're thrilled about the recognition, but those of us who work here already know Blumira is something special. Here’s why:

    Balance: We focus and work hard, and we encourage rest and stepping away.

    At most (hopefully all) companies, hard work is a given, but at Blumira, we recognize the value of taking breaks to avoid burnout. 

    Want to step away to walk the dog? No problem. Have a doctor’s appointment? Please go! And for in-depth recharging, there’s our unlimited PTO policy, which lets team members take the time they need when they need it, whether that's a week-long vacation or a mental health day.  

    Final bonus: in addition to standard holidays, Blumira recognizes a day off for every month, making sure we get a break even during months like March and August.  

    Trust: We’re honest and have integrity. 

    We’re building a product that matters to people. We take security seriously, and we don’t cut corners when it comes to building a solution that will protect your organization.

    In addition to being our fearless leaders, CEO Jim Simpson and CTO and co-founder Matt Warner are always advocating for improving security culture and communities. As a member of the Forbes Technology Council, Jim writes about topics like human-centric security and building cyber-aware company cultures. And Matt challenges us to consider the morality of cybersecurity through talks and papers. 

    Amanda Berlin is not only the co-author on the Defensive Security Handbook, but the CEO and co-founder of Mental Health Hackers. She’s frequently seen giving talks or participating on panels at events like ShowMeCon, Blue Team Con, Hack Red Con, and RSA Conference. 

    Zoe Lindsey runs our webinar program, and she’s both an incredible presenter and writer, whether that's delving into how to normalize security culture at SpiceWorld, or advocating for security culture in publications like Dark Reading

    No a**holes: We’re helpful, humble, and kind to our teammates and customers. 

    It’s true; we’ve got no tolerance for bullies. Our team members support each other the same way we support our customers: with patience, understanding, and genuine care.

    We've seen firsthand how this approach makes a difference.

    When customers tell us they've never experienced such personal attention from a software company, or when they mention the 'warm fuzzies' they get from our proactive outreach, we know we're living our values. Because at Blumira, we believe great security starts with great people who truly care about helping others succeed.

    The team as a whole 

    Even as a fully remote company, we prioritize staying connected. We celebrate each other's accomplishments, both personal and professional. We host virtual coffee chats to catch up with colleagues. 

    During Friday lunch-and-learns, we share experiences on topics like how to become a private pilot or how to build resilient relationships.     Lastly, in the spirit of building relationships, we host an annual company-wide, in-person event in the summer. This is a great few days in Detroit where we meet new folks, get to know our teams, and high-five the people we've been sending GIFs to all year! (We send a lot of gifs…)

    To wrap things up…

    We’re thrilled to get the Purpose Jobs award, because while we knew Blumira is a great place to work, you might not have.
