Blumira, a leading cybersecurity provider of automated threat detection and response technology, announced today the completion of a Service Organization Control (SOC) 2, Type 1 examination. Blumira’s cloud-delivered security platform helps organizations of all sizes with limited security resources detect and respond to cybersecurity threats faster to stop ransomware and data breaches.
To achieve this critical third-party assessment, Blumira underwent a rigorous independent audit performed by ByteChek Assurance to ensure that Blumira’s security protocols and use of data meet strict data security requirements established by the AICPA (American Institute of CPAs).
SOC 2 is a voluntary reporting framework for service organizations, developed by the AICPA, that specifies how organizations should manage customer data, based on the following Trust Services Criteria: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. Blumira leveraged ByteChek’s automated compliance platform to streamline the completion of their SOC 2 Type 1.
By verifying Blumira’s internal processes, procedures and controls are up to the highest security standards enforced by the AICPA, Blumira can ensure their customers’ organizations and data are protected.
These reports help Blumira’s customers and partners assess our systems and the suitability of the design of the company’s controls. They can gain insight into Blumira’s security processes, internal governance and risk management processes, and regulatory oversight.
“This was a huge milestone for our team,” said Blumira’s Chief Technology Officer, Matthew Warner. “Successfully completing the SOC 2 examination shows our customers, partners, and the market at large the importance we place on security and building a cybersecurity product that customers can rely on and trust.”
By completing this assessment, Blumira reinforces its commitment to ensuring the security and integrity of customer data through proper testing of its day-to-day operations.
